The School collects, holds and administers a range of personal information for fundraising for and operating the School in Tanzania. We have adopted the following principles as minimum standards concerning handling personal data.

This policy applies to our staff, board members, students, former students, volunteers, contractors and suppliers who handle personal information collected by the School and it applies to personal information collected from donors, sponsors, volunteers, visitors to the School, contractors and suppliers (鈥測ou鈥, 鈥測our鈥). This policy does not apply to personal information collected in relation to current or former students of the School, job applicants or current or former employees of the School in connection with their employment.

By providing your personal information to us, you consent to the use, storage and disclosure of the personal information you provide the School as described in this policy.

What personal information do we collect and hold?

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Name, mailing or street address, email address, telephone number, age or date of birth, gender or other verification information which we are required to collect under relevant laws that apply to us;
  • Profession, occupation or job title;
  • Details of donations you have made, sponsorship packages you have subscribed to or products and services you have purchased from us or which you have enquired about, together with any additional information necessary to deliver those products and services and to respond to your enquiries;
  • Photograph, video or audio recording; and
  • Any additional information relating to you that you provide to us directly or indirectly through the use of our website, online presence or through our representatives or otherwise.

We use third party payment providers for payments and donations to the School which means we do not collect or retain credit card and bank account information directly other than in relation to contractors and suppliers where we might hold bank account information.

How do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information directly from you unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so. We may collect personal information from you in the following ways:

  • During conversations between you and our representatives;

The only permitted communications between St Jude鈥檚 supporters and visitors and St Jude鈥檚 staff are those which are conducted through official school channels, and for official purposes.

We collect personal information from you for fundraising for and operating the School in Tanzania. This includes:

  • to send communications requested by you;
  • to answer enquiries and to process or provide information on your donations or sponsorship subscriptions;
  • to provide you with access to protected areas of our website;
  • to assess the performance of the website and to improve its operation of the website;
  • to conduct business processing functions, including providing personal information across the School, contractors, service providers or other third parties;
  • for the administrative, marketing (including direct marketing), planning, product or service development, quality control and research purposes of the School and its contractors or service providers;

  • our staff, board members, students, volunteers, contractors or service providers for fundraising or operating the School or our website, fulfilling requests by you, and to otherwise provide services to you;
