By teaching, not giving, we break the cycle of poverty

With a gift in your Will to St Jude鈥檚 you can create a legacy to help us continue providing free, quality education to bright, poor students in Tanzania. This means supporting current students, and those who start their studies at St Jude鈥檚 in the future.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of people who consider our mission to fight poverty through education when creating their Wills.

Your gift, no matter how large or small, will make a difference.


As a volunteer and long-term sponsor of students at mini传媒, Australian Board Director and Treasurer, David Collins (pictured right, and above with his wife Gail), knows the value of gifts in Wills and the impact they鈥檝e had for the school and its students.

He says bequests mean the school can invest in buildings and equipment required for development and growth, and they help support the school鈥檚 financial sustainability.

鈥淢y wife and I are fortunate to have visited the school and seen firsthand the impact bequests have for St Jude鈥檚. Bequests are another way of giving, and mean the school can sustainably provide free quality education for students who would otherwise miss out on educational opportunities that significantly impact their life, their family鈥檚 life and the broader community.

We are leaving a gift in our Will as an enduring legacy that continues to provide support for the education of our 2 students even after we have gone,鈥� he says.

There are 4 types of bequests

  • 补听cash gift for a specific amount. This is sometimes referred to as a pecuniary gift.
  • a percentage of your entire estate.
  • 补苍听asset such as land, shares, property or other personal items.
  • the remainder of your estate after your family and loved ones are looked after. This is called 补听residual听产别辩耻别蝉迟.

How do I leave a gift in my Will to St Jude鈥檚?

Leaving a bequest or legacy to St Jude鈥檚 is simple. You can write your own Will or you can consult a solicitor who is experienced in Wills and estates to help you create one.

To ensure your wishes are followed and St Jude鈥檚 receives your gift, we recommend wording such as that below:
I bequeath to mini传媒, Tanzania through mini传媒 Limited (ABN 53 620 147 775) 鈥� (fill in amount of cash, percentage or residuary of estate, details of property or shares)鈥�

My bequest is to be used for the general purposes of mini传媒 www.schoolofstjude.org through mini传媒 Limited (ABN 53 620 147 775) 鈥� and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be a complete discharge of the same.
